Blueberry French Toast

Blueberry Toast with Probiotic Fruit

  • Mixing Bowl
  • 13×9 dish
  • 12 slices homestyle bread
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 12 eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3 cups dried blueberry
  • 1 tbsp salt
  1. Place bread cubes in 13x 9 dish that is oven suitable such as a glass dish.

  2. Add 1 cup of blueberries on top and mix 12 eggs together and add on top of the bread mixture.

  3. Add milk and maple syrup in a bowl and pour on top of egg mixture and toss gently.

  4. Store covered in refrigerator for 8 hours.

  5. Bake covered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Check the toast casserole to see that a knife placed in the middle of the dish is removed clean without any dough.

  6. In a pan add the sugar water and flour in a small pan bring to a boil and reduce until thickened.

  7. Sprinkle fermented blueberries on top of the toast

  8. Add dried berries to a mason jar and add salt and water on top to cover.

  9. Place a napkin over the jar and seal with a rubber band.

  10. When the berries have bubbles that rise to the surface you may sweeten the berries with stevia, sugar or honey to taste.

  11. Refrigerate and use when needed.

Sparkling Berry Drink

probiotic berry juice

  • glass canning jar
  • water kefir grain
  • mineral water
  • 1/2 gallon room temperature water
  • 1 package kefir water grains
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  1. Add 1 qt warm water to jar add honey; stir to combine.

  2. Fill jar 7/8 full with room temperature water.

  3. Add the kefir grains to jar and cover with a napkin to allow respiration and seal with a rubber band to make a seal.

  4. Place in a cool dark closet. In three days you should see bubbles rising to the surface.

  5. Remove 1 cup of water from jar and add 1 cup of blueberry/pomegranate juice and cover for 3 days. Store in a dark closet.

  6. Bubbles are noticeable when chilled add to cup and enjoy.

  7. When starting to drink probiotic sparkling water start slow and each day add a little more while your system becomes stronger.

  8. Remove water kefir grains from jar before putting juice in refrigerator. Pour through a strainer and rinse before making a new jar.

  9. Repeat steps 1-3 for new jar. As your grains grow you may need to control the grains per jar so they have enough food to use for your benefit. We use approximately 1/3 cup per 1/2 gallon jar.

Different juices may be substituted we used blueberry pomegranate for an extra antioxidant value.
